BTRC conveys the message of safe internet through Sisimpur
The popular television series Sisimpur will turn 18 next April. Apart from television, YouTube has already reached 250 schools in the country. Recently the new season of Sisimpur, season-15 started. New in this season, Halum, Tuktuki, Ikri and Shiku appeared with new friend Julia.
Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) has released a new publication to make parents aware of internet and mobile usage.
A publication on Internet Parental Guideline was officially released on Friday at Shishu Prohar of Book Fair. BTRC Chairman Shyam Sund Sikder unveiled the wrap. BTRC Director General Brigadier General Nasim Parvez, Sisimpur Bangladesh Managing Director Mohammad Shah Alam and Creative Department Director Nasreen Akhter were also present.
BTRC chairman said on the occasion that this publication will be provided free of cost to all at the book fair. The book highlights how children should be aware when using the internet.
He said, we hope that the parents will read the book to the children and they themselves will be aware. Apart from this I have written a book from Bangla Academy. It is called ‘Child and Adolescent Internet Awareness and Cyber Safety’.
In his speech, BTRC Director General said, in our childhood there was a song in the Chhutir Ghanta (The Holiday Bell) movie - Our country is a Swapnapuri (A Dreamland), I think, today's Sisimpur is that Swapnapuri. Our children are the future of tomorrow. We want to secure their future.
Children friends Halum, Tuktuki, Ikri and Shiku were found on move in the program conducted by Abu Saif Ansari, Director of Program and Business Development of Sisimpur, a manufacturing company in Sisimpur. They entertained children with safe internet awareness by singing and dancing.
In the publication ceremony held at the Sisimpur premises of the Sheikh Russell Shishu Chatwar of the Amar Ekushey Book Fair, it was informed that the manual will be distributed to various schools apart from the book stalls of Sisimpur. At the same time it will be published on Sisimpure app and BTRC website soon.
